First Post! A little background on me and my love for baking!

Where to begin…

My love for sweets (all things chocolate, sugar, or the like) began long before I can remember; be it M&Ms, pie, cake, etc., I love it!  One of my fondest memories of my late mother was learning to make pie crust from scratch–and frequently throwing it out when it wasn’t the right consistency.  Luckily, over the years I’ve “perfected” the art of the pie crust and have wasted far less than we did back in the day.  After college I settled happily into a slightly domestic role, although working full time did not allow me to be in the kitchen as much as I now realize I like to be; but over time and with encouragement from family and friends I have started to bake on a larger scale–doing a few events and weddings coming up in 2015!

I’m excited to showcase–and advertise–some of my desserts and hope that you’ll enjoy them too!  Please contact me with questions and upcoming events that you may need sweets for, and visit the blog again for updates and new pictures!

Cupcakes! From left to right: white velvet raspberry filled with buttercream frosting, cookies n’ cream with milk chocolate frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and chocolate with peanut butter frosting.

Firefighting cake for Makenzie! A chocolate cake with fondant to make the fire hose, then chocolate cupcakes to make the water “spray” to fight the fire!
